Abstract

Integration of various fingerprint matching algorithm is a viable method to improve the performance of a fingerprint identification system. In this paper, we firstly using minutiae to align the input fingerprint image, then use filterbank-based matching algorithm. Secondly, we present a hybrid matching algorithm that uses both minutiae information and texture information. Results obtained on the FVC 2004 DB1-A database shows that a integration of the texture-based and minutiae-based matching scores leads to a substantial improvement in the overall matching performance.
