Abstract

Influence of forging process on microstructure and mechanical properties of TC4-DT alloy was studied. The results show that comparing with conventional-forging and conventional uniform-forging, a better combination of strength and plasticity can be obtained for the alloy by uniform forging plus high temperature β heat treatment followed by water quenching after annealing(process C). The microstructure of fine equiaxed grains of the alloy is obtained by process C with the deformation degree increasing, and thus the mechanical properties are improved.
