Abstract

Influence of ITO (Indium Tin Oxides) electrode square resistance on characteristics of organic solar cells is studied. Based on the analysis of resistance characteristics and optical properties of organic solar cells using ITO electrodes with different square resistances, causes affecting the device characteristics are explored. Through affecting the series resistance and shunt resistance of the device, ITO electrode square resistance has substantial influence on the device short-circuited current and power conversion efficiency. The transmittance of ITO glass substrates and the distribution of electromagnetic field inside the solar cells reveal that the optical property of different ITO glass differs slightly and has insignificant influence on the device characteristics. The difference of the device efficiency mainly comes from the influence of different ITO square resistance on the device resistance.
