Abstract

In our opinion, the terminal guidance law can be improved by estimating missile-target parameters (relative position, velocity and acceleration) from bearings-only measurement in passive guidance mode. A motion tracking sliding-mode guidance law is proposed to enhance guidance accuracy for the nonlinear control systems of homing missile terminal guidance. We utilize the target-tracking AEKF (adaptive extended Kalman filtering) algorithm to provide the above mentioned estimated information to MTSMG algorithm proposed by us. Based on simulations, the conclusions are as follows: (1) high guidance accuracy is obtained with MTSMG algorithm; (2) the terminal trajectory of homing missile is smooth; (3) the overload of missile is permissible and changes placidly.
