Abstract

Based on the 3D unsteady Euler equation of a hovering rotor flow, the far field noise was calculated by Kirchhoff formula. How to interpolate sonic pressure, its spatial derivative and time derivative on the Kirchhoff surface was discussed. A high efficient 3D linear interpolation method was proposed. Simulation results for UH-1H helicopter rotor as an example show that the numerical results are in good agreement with experimental data. The choice of Kirchhoff surface position has some effect on the computed results of sonic pressure.
