Force analysis of joint bolt holes in solid rocket motor skirt subjected to bending load

Abstract

Starting from classical plane bending theory for slender beams, the formula for total tensile force on tension side of SRM case subjected to bending load was derived. Based on it, single point force analysis method was obtained according to the test data of only one bolted connection and distortion harmonization relationship of all bolted points of flanged connection system. This method can be applied to the calculation of single joint force in the given bending conditions. The validity of the result was proved indirectly by the calculating example.
