Abstract

Microstructural changes during the hot deforming of TC4-DT alloy were predicted into a 3D FE model and the recrystallization and grain growth were simulated. In order to establish recrystallization and grain growth models for TC4-DT alloy, hot deformation tests were carried out at different temperatures and strain rates. The constitutive equations for dynamic recrystallization behavior and grain growth were generated using the experimental data collected from various references. The evolution of grain structures in the process of hot deforming of TC4-DT alloy was simulated by using the 3D FE modle. The predicted grain size and distribution were compared with the microstructures of the deformed billet, and the reliability of the prediction was discussed.
