Abstract

The FE-SEA hybrid method, combining the finite element method (FE) and statistical energy analysis (SEA), can be used to vibration analysis of complex structures in a broadband frequency range. With the FE-SEA hybrid method the bending vibration of two coupled beams was analyzed. The expressions of related parameters, such as, the modified dynamic stiffness matrix ΔD, the modified forcing vector ΔF and power input from the global modes Pg, were deduced. It is shown by computer simulations that the method proposed is valid for analysis of structures excited by broadband input power.
