Abstract

Using simulative motor experimental research is carried out in order to understand the impactive safety of solid rocket motor useing HTPB and NEPE solid propellant. Material of the case, propellant and the thickness along impactive direction are taken into account. The experimental results indicate that the low vulnerability of rocket motor with steel case is low; the fragmentation of the propellant depend on the mechanical performance; and the combustion intensity is effected by the thickness along impactive direction. The experimental proof for evaluating and designing of the low vulnerability of rocket motor using those solid propellants is provided by the results.
