Abstract

Boundary layer suction (BLS) system has been built on the basis of a continuous high subsonic wind tunnel. With the experimental facilities, aspirated cascade with slot on suction surface has been tested systematically. Effects of BLS on the performance of aspirated cascade are analyzed quantitatively. Results show that suction slot has an adverse effect on incidence characteristic of cascade, total pressure loss coefficient increases by 70% in average under the test conditions. Through BLS, wake of cascade is weakened, and the performance of cascade is improved at each incidence. When every comparative massflow has the best experimental value, total pressure loss coefficient decreases by 20.5%, diffusion factor with designed inlet Mach number 0.6 improves by 70.7% in average.
