Abstract
A wire-to-cylinder reactor with HV pulse generator is developed for the removal of particulates in diesel engines. This paper discusses the removal efficiency of the instrument under different voltage levels and frequencies of the pulses. And the experimental investigation is carried out under a range of loads and speeds. The experimental results show that the voltage level and frequency of the pulse are main factors influencing the removal efficiency, and among them the voltage level is the most important factor. It confirms that this technology is a predominant means to reduce the particulates in diesel engines.
