Abstract

This paper discussed the design of Electric load Simulator (ELS) for liner rudder. The ELS uses permanent magnet DC motors as its actuators, and provides aerodynamic force for these aircrafts' linear servo rudders. The development, architecture and modeling of the ELS are introduced firstly. Then the ELS's dynamic character is studied, and the key technology and the difficulty is analyzed. Next, the control system is designed, using PID control with forward feed control to eliminate the plus force. Subsequently, a simulation is made in MATLAB. In the end, the algorithm of the control system is finished in MS VC++, and is used in the actual loading system . Simulation and experiment results demonstrate that the closed system has less than 5% error between the command force and feedback force and shows the good tracking performance.
