Experiment and numerical simulation of rotating-speed difference effects on a dual-stage counter-rotating compressor flow field and performance

Abstract

Preliminary researches on the rotating-speed difference in the counter-rotating compressor were presented. Some different rotating-speed differences were introduced and tested on a dual-stage axial counter-rotating compressor. The result of comparing computational simulation with experimental measurement indicates a good agreement between them. Consequently, it is verified that the rotating-speed difference is one of important influential factors to the performance of the compressor.
