Abstract

In this paper, a kind of e-service-driven networked manufacturing model is put forward. Referring to this model, some key enabling techniques, like e-formalizing a machining equipment, encapsulating manufacturing resources concerning the principle of core capability protection, generating a tree that consists of enterprises and suppliers based on products to be manufactured, configuring a manufacturing executive sub-system inside an enterprise, scheduling the manufacturing processes, tracking the manufacturing information flow in the range of extended enterprise, etc, are discussed in detail. Furthermore, a testbed called as e2-MES is developed with Java web solution. The running example from the industry indicates that the above idea is feasible and practical.
