Abstract

By introducing the turbine cooling bleed forecast model and NOx emission forecast model, the intercooled recuperated turbofan engine calculation model and the simulation program were further developed. Effects of the turbine cooling bleed position and mass flow rate on the intercooled recuperated turbofan engine performance and emissions were analyzed. The results indicate that, when bleeding from the recuperator cold section outlet, specific fuel consumption is lower than that of bleeding from the high pressure compressor outlet. And turbine cooling technology improvement is also beneficial to reduce the fuel consumption. Bleeding from the recuperator cold section outlet is beneficial to reduce NOx emissions at cruise condition. However, combustion technology level has the greatest influence on NOx emissions.
