Abstract

Effects of the deformation parameters such as strain rates and height reductions on the flow stress behavior, microstructure and texture evolution of TLM titanium alloy were investigated during hot compression. The experimental results show that flow softening occurs at higher strain rate (≥0.1 s-1). Stress-strain curve shows noticeable oscillation at 0.1 s-1 strain rate and the steady-state flow at lower strain rate of 0.001 s-1. At low stain rate (<0.1 s-1) and higher reduction (>10%), dynamic recrystallization scarcely occurs. Moreover, the recrystallized grain size decreases with the increasing of height reduction. Meanwhile, effects of deformation parameters of strain rates on the texture evolution were discussed. The result shows that the higher strain rate is helpful to form the {111}<112> texture.
