Abstract

The microstructure and tensile properties of TC4-DT alloy sheet were treated -y solution treatment and ageing in alpha-beta area with different temperatures and cooling ways. The results show that, after solution treatment and ageing in alpha-beta area, the microstructure was composed of equiaxed or duplex structure. Primary a phase decreases with the increase of solution temperature, and the transform ß turns a little larger. The tensile strength also increases with the increase of solution temperature, and the plasticity changes in an opposite way. No obvious anisotropy of horizontal and longitudinal mechanical properties is observed after α + ß area heat treatment in this work. After solution treated at 900 °C , solution by water cooling of this alloy sheet has better tensile properties without reducing the ductility dramatically, comparing to solution by air cooling.
