Abstract

The vibration differential equation of bridge structures is converted into the general format of precise integration method (PIM). As a result, PIM is extended to problems with moving loads. A model of load identification based on the HPD-S format of PIM is constructed and numerical results are compared with those based on the HPD-L format of PIM. It is shown that the former model exhibits higher precision even to larger time interval step and whatever load pattern is adopted. And the method developed to modify the latter model is also proved to be effective.
