Dynamic design of shape of AUV based on virtual reality

Abstract

A dynamic design steering method of the shape of AUV based on virtual environment was proposed. With virtual reality and computation steering techniques utilized, the dynamic design process becomes a close-loop that made up of a classical dynamics design sub-system, a virtual environment and designers. This displays the dynamic design process to designers in good time, and helps designers to track on the dynamic design process and to steer it expediently. After discussing the basic theory, key techniques and system implementation of this method were studied in detail. An example of design of a submerged rotating shell was given to demonstrate that structural dynamic design process that can be visualized and steered expediently by means of the presented method.
