Abstract

Direction estimation for multiple targets is an important technique for electronic surveillance systems. Based on the given optimized antenna array, the multiple targets direction estimation algorithm with monobit sampling for wideband receivers is proposed. The conventional FFT operation, multi-beam forming, and angle ration lookup table have been involved in the proposed method as the important steps. A lot of simulation experiments are also given to validate its performance. The proposed method shows good performance on the scenario of multiple independent and coherent targets. Furthermore, the direction estimation method is robust against amplitude and phase error for the multiple channels.
