Abstract
The evaluation of the dangers and the prediction of alert time are studied for an aircraft flying in a wind-shear field. The expressions of the specific total energy rate and the 'F-factor' are presented from aircraft six-degree-of-freedom motion equations. By means of sensitivity analysis and emulation computation, the effect of each wind vector on the specific total energy is described. The relationship between 'F-factor' and the true hazard based on the grey system theory is also analysed. Finally, through the emulation computation of the airplane passing through several different wind-shear fields, the relationship between different alert time and the specific energy consumption of the airplane is found to determine the alert time.
