Abstract

An omni-directional radiation antenna combined with two antennas with orthogonal polarizations is proposed in this paper. Different with the general "omni-directional"antennas, this proposed antenna has no obvious null both in azimuth plane and elevation plane. Two antennas are placed on the opposite sides of the platform and each antenna cover half of the space. Because the two antennas are with orthogonal polarizations, there is little interference for the two antennas, especially at the border of the two half spaces. The antennas with the platform are designed with the platform. The simulated results show that the gain is higher than -5dB for both azimuth and elevation planes. An antenna prototype was fabricated and measured. The measured radiation patterns are agreeable with the simulated ones.
