Correct establishment of structure–activity relationship of flexible electromagnetic wave absorber

Abstract

Establishing the relationship between the inherent structure of electromagnetic wave absorber and electromagnetic wave absorption characteristics will help to guide the design of the next generation of electromagnetic wave absorber and deal with the increasingly severe challenge of electromagnetic pollution. Therefore, as a key link, the test of electromagnetic wave absorption performance is of great significance; however, there are some misunderstandings in the test of existing electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. Electromagnetic wave absorbing materials need to be tested by diverse test methods according to distinct application scenarios. This manuscript reviews the misunderstandings in the test of flexible electromagnetic wave absorbing materials and puts forward the correct test method from the principle and scope of application of the test method. This comment is conducive to guide the testing of electromagnetic wave absorbing materials and provide a reasonable testing approach for flexible wearable electromagnetic wave absorbing materials.
