Abstract
Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence is extensively employed to many fields, such as decision making and information fusion. In this theory, one of the key problems is the combination of conflicting evidences which may cause counterintuitive conclusion. In previous studies, many methods have been developed to solve this problem. However, there are some deficiencies that can be improved. In this paper, a new method is proposed to combine the conflicting evidences based on the distance of the bodies of evidence and weighted balance evidence theory (WBET). Comparing with the existing methods, the proposed method efficiently combines highly conflicting evidences, and moreover the convergence rate has been greatly improved. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been demonstrated by a numerical example.
