Abstract
The thermo-physical parameters of AZ91D magnesium alloy are presented. ProCAST is used to simulate the filling and solidification process of antigravity cast magnesium alloy mechanical samples. Simulated results were verified by antigravity cast experiments. It is shown that the casting simulation software ProCAST can be used to simulate the filling and solidification process of antigravity cast magnesium alloy, and can provide exact flow fields and temperature fields, thus can predict cast defects and their positions.
