Abstract
To lower viscosity of the poly-sulfone (PSU) and improve mechanical properties of PSU, the binary blends of PSU and thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP) were used. The material and preparation of specimens were introduced. For determining rheology, tension strength testing and morphology survey were performed. The results have shown that the viscosity of the blend compared with neat PSU is significantly decreased, the main mechanical properties (tension strength, bending strength, tensile modulus and bending modulus) for the blend contained 5% TLCP were superior to those of neat PSU, but strength for blend contained 30% TLCP becomes worse than those of neat PSU, and morphology exhibits skin-core structure, it means that TLCP content has a definite limitation.
