Abstract

A novel method is introduced to improve approximating approach in object tracking. Integral feedback and feed forward mechanisms are added to an approximating algorithm in tracking to reduce the computation in the iteration and eliminate the tracking error in tracking objects with certain specific mode of motion. The iteration of the tracking algorithm can be synchronized with frames obtained (one or few iteration steps per frame). The compensation for the influence caused by the camera motion is also considered in similar manner. The stability and robustness is analyzed and experimental results show the effectiveness of the algorithm for object tracking in a sequence of images.
