Abstract
Adopting the method of weighted residual, the natural frequencies of a pipe conveying fluid were calculated and the influences of the fluid velocities on the natural frequencies were analyzed. In the process of analyzing, the trial functions were also constituted via the N order Galerkin truncation. After establishing the performance function of the resonance reliability of the pipe conveying fluid, the first four order moments of the performance function were determined with the point estimation method and the resonance reliabilities were obtained using the modified Edgeworth expansion. Then, the relationship between the fluid velocities and the resonance reliabilities was also presented. The stady results valuable for anti-resonance design and resonance reliability estimation of a pipe conveying fluid.
