N2 - This paper discusses the influence of both quantization and noise upon the estimation results in phase estimation algorithm based on orthogonal transformation. The bias, variance and distribution property of estimated values are provided, the theoretical analysis shows that the expectation of the phase estimated is biased in most of the cases even the noise is zero-mean-valued, and the effect could not be removed by averaging. In addition the variance of the estimated result is a function of SNR (Signal-Noise Ratio), quantization and its value. This conclusion is supported by simulations.
