Abstract

The Statistical Priority-Based Multiple Access (SPMA) protocol is an access control protocol proposed to ensure the transmission quality of high-priority services in multi-priority service scenarios. In this paper, a double collision avoidance SPMA (DCA-SPMA) protocol is proposed. Two strategies, adaptive backoff mechanism and circular channel allocation, are used to reduce the probability of system collision. In addition, we have analyzed the state model of the nodes by establishing a two-dimensional Markov model. We focus on solving the average packet success rate and throughput. Finally, we analyze the impact of system parameters on the performance of the protocol. A comparison with CSMA/CA is also made. The simulation results prove the effectiveness of our proposed protocol.
