Abstract
The microstructure and mechanical properties of[(Zr0. 5Cu0. 5)99. 5-xAlxSn0. 5]0. 97Ta3(molar ratio)amorphous alloy matrix composites with multiple reinforcing phases were investigated by adjusting Al content(x=5,6,8). The results indicate that Al content affects the glass formation ability of matrix. With the increase of Al content, the glass formation ability of system is increased firstly and then decreased. The variation of glass formation ability has a corresponding effect on content and dimension of the multi-phase reinforcing structure during solidification, thus affecting the yield strength and plastic deformation of amorphous composites. Therefore, the composition can be selected according to different performance requirements to achieve the adjustability and controllability of microstructure and properties.
