Abstract

A Ti–6Al–4V alloy wall with 80 vol.% equiaxed prior-β grains was fabricated via wire and arc additive manufacturing. However, the equiaxed prior-β grains were characterized by strong texture. Formation mechanisms of the equiaxed prior-β grains were discussed. The tensile results presented a much lower anisotropy than that in other studies.
