Abstract

A novel simulation model is proposed by investigating the characteristics of Ricean fading channel. We deduce the second-order and high-order statistical properties, including the probability density functions (PDF) of envelope and phase, as well as the level crossing rate (LCR) and average fading duration (AFD) for this model. From the deduction, the correct statistical properties of the proposed model are stationary in the wide sense. Moreover, the fading phases are uniformly distributed and mutually independent with the distribution of envelope. The simulation results further illuminate that the statistical properties of the proposed model are consistent with theoretical ones. Compared with existing models in [5-7], the proposed model is more effective and efficient in simulation for its much fewer random variables and less computation complexity.
