Abstract

D-S evidence theory can represent and handle uncertain information more effectively than probability theory, and this feature makes it be widely used in information fusion. However, D-S evidence theory is based on basic probability assignment (BPA), so decision-making based on BPA is an issue that must be addressed. In order to build a mapping from the belief to the probability domain, a new probabilistic transformation is put forward in this paper. Then a numerical example is given to show how the new transformation works and we compare it with the main existing transformations proposed in the literature so far, such as pignistic probability transform. Results are provided to illustrate the efficiency of this new proposed method.
