Abstract

The uniformities of chemical composition, macrostructure and microstructure of large-sized ingots of two kinds of Ti-V-Cr type burn-resistant titanium alloys, i.e. WSTi3515S and TB12 were studied in this paper, and the comparative analysis for mechanical properties of their slabs were presented. The results showed that the chemical compositions of Ti-V-Cr type burn-resistant titanium alloy ingots with 3 tons degree produced by VAR are uniform. The microstructures and properties of the burn-resistant titanium alloys large-sized slabs produced by the large-tonnage extruder and the large-tonnage quick-forging machine are uniform. The room temperature tensile properties, hardness, impact and high temperature tensile properties at 540℃ of two kinds of Ti-V-Cr type burn-resistant titanium alloys are similar. The thermal stability and creep properties of WSTi3515S alloy at 540℃ are better than TB12 alloy. The effect of elements of V and C to improve the thermal stability and creep properties of Ti-V-Cr type burn-resistant titanium alloy is remarkable. And C element can refine the microstructure of the burn-resistant titanium alloy.
