Abstract

A new 3D metal-organic framework [Cd(2-Etim) 2] n (1) (2-Etim = 2-ethylimidazole), has been synthesized by solvothermal method and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), circular dichroism spectrum (CD) and Elemental analysis (EA). Structural analysis shows that compound 1 possesses a three-dimensional framework with 4-connected quartz (qtz) topologic network where the Cd(II) centers are all 4-coordinated.
