Abstract

Here, metastructure liquid-filled pipeline with an additional tunable frequency local resonance unit was proposed. By adjusting installation position of mass block of the local resonance unit on spring plate, natural frequency of the local resonance unit could be adjusted to realize vibration suppression of liquid-filled pipeline at multiple frequencies. Firstly, the structural dynamic model of a super-structure fluid-filled pipeline with an additional frequency tunable local resonance unit was established. Its dynamic equation was derived with Galerkin method, and then the analytical expression for multi-frequency band gaps was established with the modal analysis method. The corresponding finite element model was established, and its multi-frequency vibration reduction characteristics were numerically simulated, and the corresponding verification experiments were conducted. The calculation and experimental results showed that the proposed superstructure fluid-filled pipeline has multiple band gaps, and bending vibration of the fluid-filled pipeline is significantly suppressed within the band gap range; using frequency tunable local resonance unit can effectively suppress vibration of the pipeline under multiple frequencies to provide a reference for vibration reduction applications in fluid-filled pipelines under multiple target frequency ranges.
