摘要

Among the few techniques currently utilized for achieving weightless environment on Earth, like free fall techniques, sounding rockets, parabolic flight, none of them can provide a weightless condition for period of time long enough for processes like protein crystallization, cell culture, plant growth, etc.. Recent advances in superconducting magnet technology makes it possible to generate a weightless condition which can be used for those purposes requiring long duration time. This paper reviewed the promising technique and its applications in the research fields like researches in life sciences, materials sciences, physics and chemistry.
