Water injection analysis of multi-load AUV with LES/VOF method

摘要

Through the injection of water we increase the weight and achieve the requirements of separation during the separation movement of multi-load AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle). It can be seen that the research and analysis of the process of water injection into AUV is helpful. The numerical simulation of process of water injection into AUV was done with LES (Large Eddy Simulation) coupled with the VOF (Volume of Fluid). The effects of the diameter of water injection hole, the location of water injection hole and the depth of water were investigated. And the results and their analysis show preliminarily that three preliminary conclusions can be drawn as started in section 4 of this paper; the three conclusions are briefly: (1) the larger the size of diameter of water injection hole is, the greater is the rate of water injection, but the longer is the time required for air bubbles to detach from the hole; (2) due to the existence of the contraction of the tail section, the closer the distance between the two water injection holes is, the higher is the rate of water injection and the greater is the water volume injected into the model; (3) the greater the depth of navigation is, the shorter is the time needed to reach the equilibrium state.
