Thermal characteristics analysis of power driver for brushless electromechanical actuator

摘要

The thermal characteristics of power driver are developed for miniaturized brushless electromechanical actuator(EMA), which aims at solving its thermal cumulate problems caused by large current and high power density. On the basis of the semi-bridge modulation mode of H_PWM_L_ON, the power dissipation of three-phase bridge inverter circuit is analyzed; the thermal conduction model is built with the method of RC thermal network. The simulation and experiment results of Infineon IGBT-modules FS50R06W1E3 indicate that the conclusion of power dissipation is accurate and the thermal conduction model can compute the operating temperature of power device. The method can be used to evaluate the power driver of brushless EMA for estimating the operating temperature; this can avoid the temperature's exceeding the maximum junction temperature while improving effective output power.
