Simulation model for a loop-scavenged two-stroke engine

摘要

Calculations are made to analyze the flow field for the engine cylinder, transfer pipes and exhaust pipe of a loop-scavenged engine. Result shows that the pressure difference between the crank case and the exhaust pipe has a definite influence on the flow field of the transfer pipe. A pair of toroidal vortex and tumble vortex are found in the cylinder during the scavenging process. And the tumble vortex is maintained up to the nearly top dead center.
