摘要

An environmental barrier coating (EBC) with the alternative multilayer structure was fabricated by plasma-sprayed ZrO2-modified Yb2SiO5 and MoSi2 as sublayers. The water-vapor corrosion test at 1500 °C is up to 100 h revealing a structure transformation from ZrO2-Yb2SiO5 coating in which MoSi2 was the sublayer to ZrO2-Yb2Si2O7 coating in which SiO2 was the sublayer. By sacrificing the SiO2 phase, a structural evolution emerged from dissolved SiO2 to lamellar pores with volatilization of SiO2. Layer-by-layer spallation avoided the complete delamination of the composite coating, and the sacrificing of SiO2 can inhibit the inward invasion of oxygen and water vapor. The enhanced water vapor corrosion resistance and oxygen barrier effect of the multilayer coating contributed to the thin TGO-thickness of alternative multilayer EBC, as well as the long service life.
