摘要

Resistive structure is a popular configuration for tactile sensors, which were designed for mimicking the touch of human skin, due to its simple construction and functional diversification. Although resistive tactile sensors have been studied over several decades, recent advances in novel functional materials and micro-manufacturing techniques provide new opportunities for flexible tactile sensors with unprecedented high performance and applications. In this chapter, we briefly summarize resistive tactile sensors along with their working principles and recent progress in functions and applications. We also discuss the piezo-resistive effect and microstructure-enhanced piezo-resistivity in both semiconductors and conducting composites. Finally, we review functionalities of tactile sensors in detecting pressure and multiple external information such as temperature, strain, shearing, and vibration.
