摘要

In order to predict the permeability of quinoline insoluble (QI) cake under low pressure impregnation, the modified one-dimensional packing model of spheres was applied to predict its porosity. On the basis of that, as the most important transport property of the filter cake, the permeability coefficient was calculated by the equation suggested by Endo. The theoretically calculated results of two types of coal-tar pitches were close to the data from experiments deduced by the Darcy's law. The effects of content and size of the finest mode of the QI particles on the permeability coefficient were explored, because its arrangement is a critical factor to the structure of the cake. The research shows that both decreasing content and increasing size of the finest QI particles can improve the permeability coefficient.
