Peening surface integrity of different milling conditions for high strength aluminum alloy 7055

摘要

To study effect of different milling surfaces on peening surface integrity, research on the change of surface integrity are carried out using the same shot peening process for different milling surfaces of 7055 aluminum alloy. The results show that shot peening can improve the dispersion and instability of surface integrity brought by milling processing, although it make processing surface roughness increases; The maximum residual compressive stress and depth of residual stress layer increase significantly after shot peening, and the layer uniformity and refactoring state consistency of the residual stress and hardening distribution are very good; The larger surface roughness and the poor surface texture of milling samples before shot peening lead to crack and gouges are produced on shot peening processing surface.
