Numerical analysis of the unsteady rotor/stator interaction flow in an agitator

摘要

The unsteady flows in an agitator are calculated numerically and compared with experimental data. The influence of turbulent models on the eddy distribution and the prediction of unsteady flows is studied. The study shows that the periodic migration appears easily with the realizable κ-ε model and the calculated eddy structure is in a good agreement with experimental results, when the standard k-ε model is adopted in conjunction with the two-layer zonal model in the near-wall treatment. It is found that when the shaft speed is up to 210 r/min, a new eddy appears near the tip of rotational blade, the center of the eddy moves with the rotational blade, and the intensity of the eddy increases with the shaft speed.
