摘要

The tensile stress vs strain curves σ() and the tensile strain effects on the critical current of Bi-2223/Ag tapes produced by the powder-in-tube method have been studied, at 77 K. Multifracture phenomena were observed on Bi-2223/Ag superconducting tapes. Simultaneous measurements of σ() curves and normalized critical current Icn vs tensile strain curves suggest that the oxide layers cracking cause directly the rapid critical current decreasing. The values of the strains that the first cracking starts are almost the same of the irreversible strain limit 0.9.
