Multidisciplinary optimization of subsonic wing planform using free form deformation

摘要

Presented is a multidisciplinary optimization approach for subsonic wing planform design, in which Navier-Stokes equations and finite element analysis were coupled through radial basis function interpolation. Free form deformation technique was used for both wing surface geometry and structural model parameterization, so the structure will be deformed simultaneously by the same control volume used for wing surface parameterization. All important planform parameters could be considered, including aspect ratio, taper ratio, wing sweep, wing span, and root\tip chord length. After optimization using Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm 2, Pareto front was obtained. Results indicate that the method used is applicable and suitable in this case.
