摘要

The methodology of low sensitivity modification was proposed for improving the meshing stability of spiral bevel gears used in aerospace application. Based on tooth surface error and error sensitivity matrix, the model of tooth surface error modified can be developed, the generalized inverse matrix with least square method was adopted to solve the transcendental equations, and the correction quantities can be obtained. Tooth surface modification with three segments parabolic was conducted, and the tooth surface correction model and the relative solutions were applied to obtain correspondingly machine-tool settings adjustment quantities by considering the modified tooth surface as the objective surface. A numerical example presents that the error sensitivity of the contact patterns and the misalignment tolerances can be enhanced by the low sensitivity modification with the root bending strength descending to 4.28%. Therefore, the change of tooth root strength can be fall down and the meshing stability can improved by the properly determination of tooth modification coefficients.
