N2 - As an important branch of polymer field, hyperbranched polymers have developed rapidly recently, which have been applied in various fields because of its outstanding biodegradability and biocompatibility, especially in biology and coatings. According to reaction mechanism, the fabrication methods of hyperbranched polymers include polycondensation, ring-opening polymerization, living polymerization and other new methods. These methods are all environmental-friendly and high-efficient to generate hyperbranched polymers, and are valuable for industrialization, but there are still some defects such as the structure of the polymer is not regular enough, the composition of the polymer is too single, or the partial synthesis method is complicated. In this work, on the basis of previous studies, the preparation methods of hyperbranched polymers and their applications in various fields were reviewed, and the development trend of hyperbranched polymers was analyzed.
